Himachal Paresh has launched Health Insurance Scheme for Senior Citizen 2017

Himachal Government has implemented Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme (SCHIS) through additional insurance protection in the state to provide better senior citizen health care services.

Under the scheme, all current National Health Insurance Scheme (RSBY) smart card holders will be given insurance cover of 30 thousand rupees per person in addition to basic insurance cover of 30 thousand rupees in trust / society system.This insurance protection will be given by the State Nodal Agency Himachal Pradesh Health Insurance Scheme Society till the beginning of the National Health Insurance Scheme, whereas at the beginning of the National Health Insurance Scheme, this service will be provided through the insurance company.
State Government spokesman said that beneficiaries of this scheme will be people of the age of 60 years or more registered in RSBY recently. Senior citizens of those families who are eligible for RSBY, but are not registered in this scheme, they will not get the benefit of SCHIS.
